About

IJ_Religious_Formation_Logo_-_400x420Our Religious Formation program is dedicated to assisting parents, who are their children’s “original and primary educators” (compendium), and children in their desire for communion and intimacy with Jesus Christ.  We prepare God’s children for an encounter with Jesus by first helping them to know Him.  This encounter is meant to become a lifelong journey with God.

Our formation, each year building upon the prior, begins with children entering grade one.  Upon completion of level two, the children receive the Sacraments of Confession and Holy Communion.  Levels three, four and five focus on Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition and how to bring that knowledge to discipleship.  Level Six and Seven is a culmination of prior years with focus primarily on a two year Confirmation Preparation program.  After Confirmation in the Fall of Grade 8 we encourage the students to put their Faith into action with our Youth Ministry (grades 7 through 12).

Classes take place weekly for children in grades two through seven and are held at the Infant Jesus Parish Center.  It is our commitment to make our programs inclusive and accessible to children with special needs and disabilities.  The program relies heavily on volunteers.
